These are films your friends have never heard of, the kind that&#8217;ll stick in your head for days or that you&#8217;ll want to tell everyone about because they totally caught you off guard. You know the ones \u2013 those films you can&#8217;t stop talking about afterward. Our lineup is packed with stuff you won&#8217;t find anywhere else, from quirky indies to wild experimental animations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What kind of films do we show?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We go for filmmakers with serious vision who do their own thing \u2013 usually fresh voices or people who don&#8217;t get enough attention elsewhere. Pluk is all about giving new talent a shot, especially those driven by a real need to tell their story rather than chasing box office numbers. Sometimes these directors go on to become huge. We&#8217;ve shown <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.plukdenacht.nl\/en\/movie\/eagle-vs-shark\/\">early work <\/a>from people like Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok) and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.plukdenacht.nl\/en\/movie\/alle-anderen\/\">Maren Ade<\/a> (Toni Erdmann) way before they hit it big internationally. Our films come straight from the big festivals \u2013 Cannes, Berlin, Venice \u2013 but we pick the ones that are too edgy or weird for regular theaters. They&#8217;re sharp, raw, funny, heartbreaking. No algorithm picking these \u2013 just films that&#8217;ll mess with your head in the best way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>A totally unique film experience<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our scouts are constantly hunting through festivals worldwide for the stuff you absolutely have to see. We&#8217;re especially into debuts and voices that never get a fair shot in the mainstream. What you get is this amazing mix of features, docs, shorts, and animations \u2013 everything from completely bonkers romantic comedies to mind-bending AI animations. There&#8217;s always something that&#8217;ll surprise you. And Pluk isn&#8217;t just about movies \u2013 we throw in weird experiments too, like crying contests and live chats with AI on the big screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Under the stars in Amsterdam &amp; Utrecht<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eleven nights at Stenen Hoofd in Amsterdam, nine nights in Utrecht.
