For this August’s edition we’re looking for a designer, illustrator or typographer to create the campaign image that anchors our poster campaign and everything around it.
Where it goes is wide open. For years we’ve leaned towards illustrative work with a real voice of its own, images that don’t have to reference film at all but pull you into a world. We’re most curious about your visual language. We want something bold and colourful, something that stands out among all the summer posters.
A couple of pointers to save you time: we tend to avoid the literal film clichés (projectors, reels, popcorn and the like) and the generic summer scene. The more distinctive, the better.
A few practical things that matter to us:
- The key details (what it is, when, where) have to be easy to read, even from a distance.
- The image lives both as a vertical poster and horizontally on the website and in banners, so we’re after a single concept that works in both formats.
- We don’t have a fixed house style, but we do use two recognisable elements: the Pluk hand and the wordmark. We’d like at least one of them in there; both is welcome too.
The commission
The fee is €1,500 excluding VAT for the full job: the campaign image in vertical and horizontal form, plus the spin-off formats for web and banners. We’ll work closely together, with a brief and plenty of room to shape it as we go.
Just to be clear: this is a paid commission, not a pitch. We don’t ask for sketches up front and we don’t expect anyone to work for free. We choose based on portfolio.
